GREEN ROOF
During the 2008-2009 school year, Team Estonoa constructed a vegetative green roof on a tractor shed at our St. Paul Elementary School parking lot!!

Green roofs provide important environmental and human health benefits including lowering energy expenditures, purifying the air, and reducing storm-water runoff. Storm-water run-off, which carries contaminants from paved surfaces and rooftops to our natural waterways, have been identified as a major source of water pollution. Green roofs can reduce this negative effect by absorbing up to seventy-five percent of rain that falls upon them.
